The Golden State Mint Saint Gaudens copper bullion round is a rendition of a twenty-dollar gold coin, or double eagle, produced by the United States Mint from 1907 to 1933. The coin is named after its designer, the sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens, who designed the obverse and reverse. It is considered by many to be the most beautiful of U.S. coins.
The obverse (front) depicts lady Liberty holding a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other as she strides across a rocky outcrop. Behind her are the United States Capitol and the rays of the sun.The reverse (back) depicts an eagle with wings outstretched and the motto “ IN GOD WE TRUST inscribed above it. Clutched in the eagle's right talon is an olive branch, while the left talon is clutching arrows. Golden State Mint’s device appears on the top and the round's weight and purity stamped around the bottom, left and right sides. .
